EGBE340   Biomedical Signals and Systems 3 (3-0-6)

Mathematical modeling and analysis of signals and systems with applications to biomedical signals. Continuous-time and discrete-time signals, linear-time invariant (LTI) systems and their properties. Z-transform and analysis of LTI systems. Frequency analysis of continuous-time signals: Fourier series and Fourier transform. Frequency analysis of discrete-time signals: discrete Fourier series and  discrete-time Fourier transform (DTFT). Frequency analysis of LTI systems. Sampling and signal reconstruction. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and fast Fourier transform (FFT). Digital filter design. Matlab is an integral part of the course.
